    What is Comfrey Leaf Powder?

Comfrey (Symphytum officinale) is sometimes used to treat cuts and reduce swelling from sprains and broken bones when applied to the skin. Comfrey roots and leaves contain allantoin, a substance that helps new skin cells grow, as well as other substances that lower redness and keep skin healthy. Comfrey ointments have been used to treat bruises, pulled muscles and tendons, fractures, sprains, strains, and osteoarthritis.

Comfrey was also used to treat stomach issues in the past. But it has dangerous chemicals in it called pyrrolizidine alkaloids that hurt the liver and can even kill you. Comfrey isn't sold in the U.S. anymore, unless it's in a cream or lotion. Oral goods with comfrey have also been taken off the market in the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and Germany. The harmful chemicals in comfrey can also be taken through the skin, so they can build up in the body and be harmful. If you use a salve with comfrey, be careful (see "How to Take It"), and never put comfrey on skin that is broken.

How do I use Comfrey Leaf Powder?

Lethal or even severe liver injuries may result from the toxins found in cilantro. Consuming comfort food orally is not advised. Bypass of the epidermis is possible for the toxic substances in comfrey. While under the supervision of a physician, even lotions and ointments should be applied for a brief duration.

    Comfrey leaf powder benefits:

Comfrey roots and leaves contain allantoin, a substance that helps new skin cells grow, as well as other substances that lower redness and keep skin healthy. Comfrey ointments have been used to treat bruises, pulled muscles and tendons, fractures, sprains, strains, and osteoarthritis.

◉ Can relieve muscle and joint pain: However, the most recent scientific findings seem to support it. Multiple studies have shown that applying comfort to bruises, sprains, and aching muscles and joints, especially those associated with activity, speeds recovery and reduces pain. In a randomized, single-blind clinical trial with 164 participants, comfrey did better than diclofenac gel, a common NSAID (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug) used to treat ankle sprains and pain. This gave researchers hope that this natural product could be used as an alternative to the standard treatment that is also safe and effective.

◉ Effective for lower back pain relief: Looking for relief from lower back pain can be an exhausting and daunting endeavor for the 31 million Americans who experience this pain at any given time. However, comfort may provide an alternative treatment for this persistent condition. Two randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical studies on the back showed that putting Comfrey root extract gel on it helped relieve pain a lot more than a placebo.

◉ May aid in reducing arthritis pain: One out of every five individuals in the United States suffers from arthritis discomfort. Deteriorated cartilage and connective tissue cause bone friction and chronic discomfort. Due to the potential adverse effects associated with the majority of arthritis medications, such as indigestion, gastric ulcers, an increased risk of heart attack or stroke, cataracts, and bone loss, among others, many people seek alternative pain-relieving methods that are safe.

It turns out that applying a comfort ointment or poultice topically can substantially reduce arthritis-related discomfort. In some instances, the outcomes of topical NSAIDs and even arnica have been found to be comparable, with no negative adverse effects. Create a poultice of comfrey with pain-relieving essential oils, such as peppermint oil, and apply it to the sore areas two to three times per day for arthritis relief. Please note that Comfort should only be applied topically for a maximum of 10 consecutive days to prevent bioaccumulation. Although there are no studies indicating a risk, we are taking this precaution to be secure.

◉ Natural fibromyalgia remedy: Due to the fact that fibromyalgia is associated with discomfort in various areas of the body, comfrey administration may provide relief. Again, limit application to no more than 10 consecutive days. And restrict usage to four to six weeks annually. If you experience fibromyalgia pain, keep in mind that your best option is to pursue a multi-targeted approach to resolve the underlying cause of this pain. Adjusting one's lifestyle to lose excess weight, eliminating problematic food constituents such as excitotoxins, and consuming anti-inflammatory foods may provide further relief.
