    What is Kukicha Twig Tea?

The twigs and stems of the same plant that are used to make black tea and green tea are used to make kukicha, a kind of traditional Japanese tea. The leaves harvested for kukicha mature for three years before roasting. This tea is also known as twig tea. Because only kukicha tea contains between 0.5 and 1% caffeine, it is also referred to as "three-year tea." This designation is because the stems and branches that are used to make kukicha tea have been on the tea plant for at least three years, during which time they have lost almost all of their caffeine content. They have absorbed all the nutrients and vitamins in the natural environment. Kukicha tea has a peculiar taste. It has a flavor that is reminiscent of sweetness, cream, and a hint of nuts. Kukicha Twig Tea is amazingly convenient for any occasion!

How to use Kukicha Twig Tea?

One should bear in mind that kukicha is steeped, whereas other teas are simmered. This can be achieved by avoiding oversteeping the tea and reducing the simmering time dramatically. You can enjoy this tea either steaming or chilled.

    Kukicha Twig Tea benefits:

Kukicha tea, abundant in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, shares the health benefits of green tea. This tea, which has a calcium level that is quite high, may be used after meals as a potent alkaline food, a natural astringent, and a digestive aid. Additionally, you can apply it topically to your skin to treat acne, rashes, and other skin conditions.

◉ Vitamins and Mineral Content: Because it is made from the stems and young twigs of the plant, twig tea has a high concentration of the vitamins and minerals that are essential for the plant's development. Kukicha is a source of various minerals, some of which include copper, selenium, manganese, calcium, zinc, and fluoride. Vitamins A and C, along with the B-complex vitamins, are all powerful antioxidants; kukicha includes all of these vitamins. According to Julie Ong, who is the author of "The Everything Guide to Macrobiotics," twig tea has a higher calcium content than cow's milk does.

◉ Control Blood Sugar: Green tea in any of its many forms may also have use in the management of type 2 diabetes and the prevention of the condition. A 2004 study paper in the journal "BMC Pharmacology" investigated these applications of green tea. Researchers conducted the tests on both diabetic mice and healthy individuals. The study found that drinking green tea decreased both the amount of glucose that mice's blood was circulating with and the amount of glucose that people metabolized.

◉ It prevents anxiety.  The mix of minerals in it serves to improve the transmission of nerve impulses, and it also helps with anxiety and sadness.

◉ It prevents tooth decay:- There are not many foods that contain significant quantities of fluoride, but tea, in general, and kukicha tea, in particular, are two such foods. Studies conducted by experts in the field have revealed that those who drink tea on a daily basis have a lower risk of experiencing dental decay. This mineral's activity, which strengthens teeth from the inside out, and the tannins, which fight germs, may explain this finding.
